HASANA BEGUM - 'TRAPPED'

This series depicts a young man feeling trapped. Hasana wanted to explore themes of isolation and entrapment. For those who suffered from mental health problems, such feelings can become overwhelming even on a day-to-day basis. During a global pandemic, how are these negative emotions amplified when most of the world is in some form of lockdown?

This is a personal project for Hasana because she had lost someone very dear to her who suffered from Schizo-affective Disorder (a combination of Bipolar and Schizophrenia) during the seven weeks of lockdown in the UK. It was clear that the Covid-19 pandemic had an adverse effect on this person's mood. Not only was he physically in lockdown, he also felt imprisoned by his emotions. He was trapped.
